Silke Eberhard and Uwe Oberg started in 2014 playing compositions by Carla Bley, Annette Peacock, Jimmy Giuffre and originals. Music related to the Free Jazz-movement of the 1960ies. Their 2016 released CD TURNS made it on the
longlist „Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik“.
In the meantime Oberg & Eberhard explore free musical spaces, frequently with legendary US-drummer Gerry Hemingway. As a trio they made their stunning debut at Just Music Festival Wiesbaden in 2016.
SILKE EBERHARD
*1972, Alto saxophonist and clarinetist Silke Eberhard studied at the Musikhochschule Hanns Eisler in Berlin, followed by David Liebman’s masterclass in the USA, and the Jazz Workshop + Residency at the Banff Centre of the Arts in Canada.
In 2004/2005 she was a guest-professor at the Ponitificia Universidad Javeriana de Bogotá in Colombia.
Besides her longstanding Trio with Jan Roder on bass and Kay Lübke on drums, current projects are the Duo OCA with pianist Aki Takase and Potsa Lotsa,– a lineup of horns, play the complete compositions of Eric Dolphy.
She has performed and/or recorded with musicians such as Ulrich Gumpert, David Liebman, Johannes Bauer, Sabine Worthmann, Baby Sommer, Dave Burrell, Gerry Hemingway, Petra Krumphuber, Alex Huber, Michael Zerang, Louis Rastig, Niko Meinhold, Antonis Anissegos, Terry Lyne Carrington, Hannes Zerbe, Olaf Rupp, NeWt Trio a.m.o.
Eberhard has also been involved in interdisciplinary projects, especially in combination with theater or dance.
She has toured Europe, Middle East, North Africa, USA, Canada, Colombia, Brasil, Japan and China.

GERRY HEMINGWAY
(born 1955) was a member of the legendary Anthony Braxton quartet from 1983 to 1994.
He has also performed with Ernst Reijseger, Anthony Davis, Earl Howard, Leo Smith, George Lewis, Ray Anderson, Mark Helias, Reggie Workman, Michael Moore, Oliver Lake, Marilyn Crispell, Christy Doran, John Wolf Brennan, Don Byron, Cecil Taylor, and Cuong Vu.
Hemingway received a Guggenheim Fellowship for his work in music composition in 2000, and was a student of Alan Dawson. He is a graduate of Foote School in New Haven. He has recorded on over one hundred albums for the labels Clean Feed, Enja, hatArt, Palmetto, Random Acoustics, and Tzadik. He owns his own label, Auricle.
